Grow Cook and Share Grow, Cook, Share - a major new local food project - has started work in Craven Arms and Ludlow East.
We provide free training and support in vegetable gardening and cookery skills to local households.

June was a busy month for Grow, Cook, Share with several successful community engagement events taking place.

The Rockspring Community Compost Day went ahead on June 3rd with local residents and their families and project volunteers turning out in force to help distribute 14 tons of domestic compost between the raised beds. We also made the front page of the South Shropshire Journal the next day!
This was followed by a visit to Fordhall Farm on Open Farm Sunday (June 13th) which was so popular we had to book another minibus.
Even the original farm cancelling their activities didn’t stop us! We re-arranged our trip and participants took part in a farm tour, a tractor ride and a veg planting workshop.
Thanks to Peter Norman and Liz Edwards for volunteering to drive the minibuses.
June 16th was the Vision Day at Ludlow Junior School – we had been working with Year 3 to get the garden going and look at why growing and eating plenty of fruit and veg is a good idea.
This culminated in an assembly where the pupils talked about their work in the garden followed by a juicing extravaganza where 75 children had a go at juicing local apples, carrots, beetroot and strawberries, trying all the juices separately and then mixing their own recipes before voting on their favourites – and the beetroot got some votes!
The compost has worked wonders at our Rockspring garden – the vegetables are enormous!!!
